Shopping list

Shami Kebab

  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 onion finely diced (250g)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 500g minced beef or lamb
  • 1 handful coriander
  • 1 fresh chilli

Tomato Chutney

  • salt
  • 1tbs vegetable/rapeseed/olive oil
  • 1 x 400g tin of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 fresh chilli (optional)
  • 1 bunch coriander leaves

Shami Kebab

Cook:

  1. Finely dice the onions, chilli and garlic cloves.
  2. Chop the coriander.
  3. In a large bowl mix together all the ingredients (onion, chilli, coriander, minced beef or lamb, salt, Tyga Masala No. 2 and garlic cloves).
  4. Shape a handful of mixture into a patty with a thickness of 1cm. Repeat until the mixture is used up (makes approximately 10 patties).
  5. BBQ or grill the patties, turning them occasionally until cooked. This will take approximately 8-10 minutes. Serve with salad.
  6. Best served with a salad and tomato chutney of course!

Tomato Chutney

Cook:

  1. Thickly slice the onion.
  2. Chop the coriander.
  3. Add the garlic cloves and onion to the vegetable oil in a frying pan over a medium heat, stirring continuously, for 4 minutes or until the onions are soft.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, Tyga Masala No. 14 (1/2 tsp for mild, 1 tsp for medium and 1.5 tsp for hot), coriander and salt.
  5. Bring to the boil and cook for a further 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Set aside to cool.
  7. Blend in a food processor (or use a hand blender) until smooth.

Ingredients & allergies

Ingredients: Tyga Masala No. 2: (Garam Masala, Coriander, Cumin & Turmeric). Kashmiri Chill, Tyga Masala No.14: Garlic powder, Chilli Powder, Chilli Flakes.

Each of the dried ingredients included in the kits has a shelf life of around 9 months, whilst the Ginger and Garlic Paste lasts for around 6 months. Simply pop the paste in the fridge when it arrives to keep it looking beautiful.
